John graduated from Kingston University in
1979 with a BA (Hons.) in Design. He initially worked in a number
of interior and architectural consultancies in London across
a variety of sectors. In 1987 he co-founded Din Associates,
which became one of the UK's leading brand, interior and graphics
consultancies with a worldwide reputation. During this time
John undertook work for some of the world's best fashion and
lifestyle brands. In December 2006 he left Din Associates to
set-up John Harvey Design Consultancy Limited.
His other achievements include
- TV and radio appearances commenting on design
- Judge for the D&AD and RSA awards
- Board member for the Design Business Association (DBA)
- Lecturing and assessing in design including Royal College
of Art, Kingston University & Ravensbourne College of
Design and Communication
- Speaker at international events including Cannes Lions
Advertising Awards and UK retail & design conferences
- DTI Committee Member to export British design to the USA
- Recipient of many design awards including D&AD, DBA
design effectiveness and DesignWeek
